Vote for Dwellingup

Dwellingup is again nominated as a finalist in the 2024 7News Top Tourism Town Awards and the Shire of Murray is calling for votes to help take out the top honour. Consumer voting opened 30 April and closes on 22 May.

Shire President, David Bolt, said he believes Dwellingup deserves ongoing recognition following last year’s win, when it was awarded the top gong both in Western Australia and nationally.

“Just over an hour's drive from Perth, Dwellingup has an abundance of nature-inspired experiences and unique offerings that suit adventurers of all ages,” said Mr Bolt.

“From hiking iconic tracks through ancient forests, to riding internationally-acclaimed hero dirt, Dwellingup is home to an array of trails waiting to be explored. There’s also galleries, cafes, wineries and steam train experiences.

“Dwellingup is home to incredible natural landscapes, from spectacular national parks to thriving river trails and towering old-growth forests that immerse you in their beauty. The adventure is yours to create in this remarkable part of the world.

“We want to see this recognized and would be absolutely delighted to see Dwellingup again crowned Top Tiny Tourism Town. However, we need votes to make happen.

“Voting results will account for 25 per cent of Dwellingup’s overall score so I urge everyone to head to toptourismtownwa.com.au and cast your vote.

“It’s quick and easy and by doing so, you’ll be entered into a draw to win a $5,000 credit with the WA Visitor Centre to spend on a holiday in WA. A second prize of a two nights stay at RAC Karri Valley Resort will also be up for grabs,” added Mr Bolt.

The 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards recognise and reward towns in Western Australia that demonstrate a strong commitment to encouraging tourism and increasing visitation to the destination.

There are many benefits associated with being crowned a Top Tourism Town, but potentially the most important is the increased public awareness and subsequent visitation.

“We want to extend Dwellingup’s growing reputation as a place to disconnect and seek adventure. The Top Tourism Town Awards help us do this so please vote by 22 May,” said David.
